Coupon clippers put your scissors aside, because Twitter is the 'it' way to save money. Here's how: go to http://search.twitter.com and type in the product you would like to buy. I typed in "Oral-B Triumph 9400", which the internet tells me is the best toothbrush man has ever created. The search results will be a list of the last few tweets (tweet=a short message from a Twitter user) that mention the product (in my case, the toothbrush). Toward the top right of the page will be a link to create a feed for the search result. Click that link and subscribe to the feed in your favorite reader. I use Google reader (http://www.google.com/reader), which is free and comfortable.
The feed will constantly search the twitter conversations that are happening while you work on your 43 things (http://www.43things.com/person/diwant). As you check in to your feed reader, you will find occasional deals people have found on the internet and have shared via twitter. Click through the tweets you feel could be a good bargain and buy your product saving mega bucks!
This is how you harness the power of Twitter to save money. This is really only going to be effective for items that are slightly pricey to begin with, like cutting edge toothbrushes. For everyday things like milk, coupon clipping still trumps all (yes, people will tweet about good deals on milk, but flyers are easier for these things). If you have found something that saves you mega bucks, let me know. Follow me on Twitter, I am at http://twitter.com/diwant
Interesting tool! My issue with this is that people already use RSS readers, and this seems like it is just a mix of RSS feeds from Twitter terms? That's what I picked up from my scan of it.
Instead of going about this round-about way - why not make it simpler by using http://www.tweetizen.com/beta/
