If you are here, you have been invited to take part in our beta of the Colleen system. This page will tell you more about Colleen, and about what you get and what we are looking for when you beta test Colleen.

Colleen is a system written to help you apply to college. The biggest two parts of Colleen are

1. a plan that tells you what to do when for your application, and
2. the ability to share and collaborate on that plan with your parents, guidance counselors, friends, and college deans

Young women interested in applying to the Computer Science program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign may use Colleen for a very customized plan on applying to colleges.

Colleen will help you build a strong and timely application to college.

Colleen needs feedback to become easier to use and more helpful. This means, that as you the beta testers use Colleen and tell us about your experience, we will make Colleen better at her job. As the system is used for more situations, the included plan and abilities will grow more specific and more powerful.

Nothing. Nada. Colleen will be free while she is in beta. However, in lieu of money we are asking for your help. Which raises the next question.

As part of the Colleen beta, you will be intermittently asked for feedback on your experience with Colleen. With your help, we will make Colleen the absolute best help in applying to colleges.

The Colleen beta is ready to use! (has been since February 10th, 2010). This means that right now Colleen is able to help high school junior students apply to the Computer Science program at Illinois for the Fall semester of 2011.

Go to the Colleen wizard page and click on 'Use this Wizard'. You may have to log in to our system (i.e. you may need to register an account on our system).
